The Brazil Experience Pavilion

Collaborators: Bruno Stringheta, Marija Krsmanovic, Fernando Maculan & Paula Dib

The Brazil Experience Pavilion was designed for the Dubai EXPO 2020 to showcase and represent Brazil’s cultural heritage at the EXPO. The design of the pavilion looks into innovative ways to present Brazilian landscapes, natural resources in their extraordinary diversity, passing through the most relevant production chains, communities, who through their customs and traditions, use these resources and

products to build the kaleidoscope - Brazil’s cultural heritage.

The proposal explores architectural space as a powerful experience based pedagogical platform. The pavilion design is defined by a series of activities, rather than a rigid form. An effervescent public and collective space, where a multitude of dialogues are initiated through encounter and doing. The aim is to articulate a cultural manifesto, rather than an architectural manifesto. The design is a place and event, rather than as an abstract object or space.
